Earth Conversations ::: I'm listening to the steem of a kettle ...

On a day in April 2020

I’m sitting in the little hut in the forest. Early morning.
What’s catching my attention?

The kettle … and the steem that dances out of its nose is opening the conversation. It’s not on the Fire anymore. I put it down on the floor. Water, heated by the Fire. I hear the Fire crackling. The birds are singing wildly in the forest around me. The tea leaves - a beautiful taste and sensation in my mouth and my body.

When I look at the kettle again, I’m seeing that the steem is becoming less … I’m in awe. As if seeing dancing steem for the first time.

What’s steem talking about?

I let the conversation happen. It speaks from the fire, oceans, rivers, clouds and the wood needed to be cut in order for the fire to burn … My journey goes to the sun and the water and the soil, which were needed in the first place to let the trees grow … and then back to the sun and the oceans and mountains and their incredible play of clouds, rain, water … and then steem …

Now the steem is almost gone, the Fire is quite silent. Here and there a crackling … little explosions. I let all of them continue to inform me about life and expressions of life and this lets me remember my humanness and there’s a remembering in my cells and bones and of my ancestors far back to ancient times.

Internally I’m smiling a quiet smile. In awe. Childlike. Knowing there are hundreds more Earth Conversations going on in every second.

I’m wondering … where do I usually dial in?

Well now … I’ll dial and tune in to my dream world, since I woke up from a strong dream image.

:::

I’m noticing - again - this (already) being in conversation is a mixture of becoming still, being called, tuning in, “giving” awareness to … and then everything starts singing in its own way again. Well … I can hear the singing then.

:::

Now you, dear sister-brother-friend, what are you tuning into? What is catching your attention? What natural element around you is talking to you?

How would it be … to close the screen for a moment … and to tune in … listening with all of your beautiful senses …

:::
